In a recent interview, Danish Aslam, the director of Break Ke Baad, announced that he is working on a new project with Imran Khan, with an official announcement expected soon. Break Ke Baad starring Imran Khan alongside Deepika Padukone, continues to be cherished by audiences and remains one of the director’s notable works. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Danish Aslam responds on reuniting with Imran Khan after 14 years of releasing Break Ke Baad.
Danish Aslam on collaborating with Imran Khan
When asked about reuniting with Imran Khan, Break Ke Baad director Danish Aslam replied, “Yes, I’ve been asked this question several times, especially over the past week. We are working on a project together. Imran is a very close friend of mine; he’s been a friend since our daughters were born just one month apart. So, we are working on something. What it is, I cannot say yet. We will make that public very soon, as soon as it becomes formalized. It’s a work in progress.”
When asked about what are his thoughts on Imran Khan coming back in films, Danish Aslam said, “Well, it’s interesting because it wasn’t like a planned pause, as in “I’m retiring, and now I’m coming back.” About a year ago, he started to organically reestablish his relationship with acting and the film industry in general. He began doing podcast interviews on his own—no PR involved; he’s been doing it all by himself. It just started happening naturally. Around that same time, we started discussing a potential project together.”
“So, is what we’re working on his ‘comeback’? Well, if it helps the film, then great. But I’m actually more happy that he’s managed to reconnect with the industry and his passion for acting and filmmaking. It’s more of a return to his relationship with the craft rather than a traditional “comeback” with a star vehicle. Achi baat hai I mean hum log saath main karenge,” the director concluded.
Danish Ali’s upcoming projects
Meanwhile, Danish Aslam is set to release his next film, Khwaabon Ka Jhamela, which stars Sayani Gupta and Prateik Babbar. The film became available for streaming on JioCinema starting November 8, 2024.
